Loving and serving God and one another for the healing of the world.

We are part of…

In the cycle of the church year, we are in the season of Easter.

Below, you will find resources for engaging with the spiritual practices of this season. Add something new to your toolkit for the journey!

Anatomy of a Collect

Collects are short prayers that “collect” us; they gather us and our thoughts together as we begin a period of worship. They are also a great exercise to incorporate into your personal devotional practice, because they follow a formula and are therefore incredibly simple to write. This Eastertide, try writing a collect during your prayer time.

Three Good Things

Starting on May 4th, we will be joining together as a parish in 30 Days of Gratitude. Every day, we are challenging each other to write down three good things—three things we are grateful for and why. Easy at first, by the second week you’ll need the prompts in the front of the journal to push you beyond the obvious and into a daily awareness of the unexpected.

“Life is short, and we do not have much time to gladden the hearts of those who make the journey with us. So be swift to love, and make haste to be kind. And the blessing of God, who made us, who loves us, and who travels with us be with you now and forever. Amen.”

— Episcopal Maine benediction, based on the words of Henri Frederic Amiel (1821-1881)
